PE
At Hillside, we intend for children to provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We offer pupils the opportunity to compete in sports and other activities, in order to help build character and reinforce values such as fairness and respect. We intend for children to be encouraged to be physically active and promote a healthy life style. We intend for children to build character development skills to apply to their everyday lives such as building self-esteem, confidence and resilience in a world where there is an increasing awareness of promoting positive mental health. We promote team work and cooperation amongst our pupils to apply to their lives.
We demonstrate a rich and varied curriculum by teaching a range of skill progression through a variety of sports which provides our pupils with increased accessibility and opportunity to sports they may not have heard of or had the chance to participate in. At Hillside, we provide opportunity for children of all abilities to have opportunity to compete in inter-school competitions.
